In the beginning there was a red square in Berlin.
An idea that became a prizewinning entry to one of the largest and most important urban design competitions of the 90's. The challenge to imagine a whole new city district for the newly reunited German gouvernement attracted 850 entries from around the world.
Audacious and slightly tongue in cheek but nonetheless seriously founded, the red square project symbolically united east and west across the river Spree with a monumental public space integrating seamlessly the major fonctions of gouvernement.
